Paris Saint-Germain has moved its opening French league match of the season against Rennes to Rennes after a summer heatwave badly damaged the pitch at Parc des Princes. The match, scheduled for Sunday (23 August), will now be played at Rennes' stadium, the French soccer competitions committee announced late Wednesday (19 August).

PSG said its pitch at Parc des Princes had deteriorated so much "that the current conditions did not allow the match to be held under satisfactory circumstances, particularly with regard to the safety and physical well-being of the players.
